If you like historical fiction books, check out books written by G. A. Henty. He lived in the late 1800s and wrote lots of books that are very factual about famous wars and civilizations from ancient Egypt to the Boxer Rebelion in China in the early 1900s. He also wrote books about Sir Fracis Drake, the travels of Cortez and the ancient Inca civilization, as well as the Seven Years war (in Canada), the war of American Independence (from a British point of view) and the American Civil War.
